Who We Are & What We Do
VIVI'R LGBTQ+ is an organization dedicated to supporting Latinx LGBTQ+ refugees and newcomers in their journey to settle in Canada. Through our outreach efforts and commitment to open communication, we strive to provide a wealth of resources, referrals, and support to facilitate crucial aspects of resettlement, including housing arrangements, employment opportunities, and access to education, legal counsel, and healthcare services through trusted referrals.
Mission
Our mission is to empower and support Spanish-speaking LGBTQ+ refugees and newcomers as they rebuild their lives and create a future in Canada. Through our programs and initiatives, we strive to provide a welcoming environment where individuals can find acceptance, build relationships, and access the resources they need to thrive. We address and prevent settlement issues by offering interpretation services and personal support in navigating legal, housing, health, and employment services.
Disclaimer:
Currently, our services are provided solely through volunteer efforts and rely on voluntary contributions as we do not receive funds from any government or private organizations.
If VIVI'R LGBTQ+ determines through its screening process that individuals do not meet the criteria for our services or do not qualify for referrals, we reserve the right to prioritize services based on individual needs and available resources and might refuse service. We will not provide services that involve misrepresentation of information or that violate any laws or regulations.
VIVI'R LGBTQ+ does not assist individuals in applying for government social services based on false information or disqualifications, such as Legal Aid Ontario (LAO), Ontario Works (OW), or the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP). We will not provide any services that contravene the law, including requests to misrepresent information to qualify for these programs.
