Who We Are & What We Do

We lend a helping hand to Spanish-speaking LGBTQ+ refugees and newcomers, aiding them in their journey to settle in Canada. Our organization provides outreach and a platform for open communication. We offer a wealth of information, referrals, and support to facilitate engagement opportunities and access to education, legal advice, and healthcare services through referrals.

To address or prevent issues related to the settlement of Spanish-speaking LGBTQ+ refugees and newcomers through offering interpretation services and personal support in accessing and
navigating legal, housing, health, and employment services.

To create a community of change-makers that serves as a leading force in providing crucial support, including essential sexual health services, legal assistance, and humanitarian aid, to ensure the thriving and success of LGBTQ+ migrants in Canada.

Vivir is committed to empowering LGBTQ+ newcomers and refugees by providing them with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive in their new lives. Through education, skill-building, and access to opportunities, we aim to empower individuals to reach their full potential.

We strongly believe in the power of collaboration and recognize that addressing the complex challenges faced by LGBTQ+ newcomers and refugees requires collective effort. We actively seek partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders to enhance our impact and create a comprehensive support network.

Advocacy lies at the heart of our mission. We advocate for the rights and well-being of LGBTQ+ newcomers and refugees, working towards dismantling systemic barriers and promoting policy changes that ensure equal opportunities and protection for all.

We approach our work with empathy and compassion, recognizing the unique challenges and experiences that LGBTQ+ newcomers and refugees may face. We provide a supportive and caring environment, offering assistance, guidance, and a listening ear to help individuals navigate their settlement journey.

We believe in creating an inclusive environment where all LGBTQ+ newcomers and refugees feel welcome, respected, and valued. We celebrate diversity and strive to foster a sense of belonging for individuals from various backgrounds, cultures, and identities.
